The Liberal Democratic Alliance (Malta) (Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta,
ALDM) was founded by Dr. John Zammit (b.1949) on 26 November 2006 as a split
from the Alpha Partit Liberali (Alpha Liberal Party) he had co-founded with Dr.
Emmy Bezzina in 2004. A main issue defended by ALDM is the legalization of
divorce in Malta and the decrease of the political influence of the Roman
Catholic church. The ALDM did not compete in the 2008 general elections but
called to vote for other liberal parties and, mostly, against the Nationalist
Party.
The flag of ALDM, as displayed by John Zammit on the balcony of
the party's headquarters in Valetta, can be seen on a colour photograph taken on
7 June 2008, available on the party's website. The flag is vertically divided
white-red with the party's seal-shaped emblem in the middle. The emblem of ALDM
shows a red and white striped lighthouse emitting two horizontal yellow beams,
standing on a grey terrace. The background is dark blue (sea) and light blue
(sky). The name of the party is written in black capital letters on the seal's
white rim. According to John Zammit, the lighthouse shown on the party's seal
represents the Dellimara lighthouse watching Marsaxlokk Bay, located in
Birzebbuga, where Zammit has been living since his youth.

The name of the ALDM is Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika (Malta) / Liberal
Democratic Alliance (Malta). I have found several other photographs of the flag.
In the flag there is obviously only one shade of yellow, and I slightly adjusted
the shades of blue.
